Sāndra is an application of LDC-IL that converts WAV files in a given folder to MP3/AAC/WMA files.

A single file or a folder with multiple files can be opted for conversion.

• Single file gets generated in the same folder of the source file.
• When a folder is given as input, a new output folder gets created in the location of the source folder with the name of the source folder suffixed with '_MP3' or '_AAC' or '_WMA', depending on the desired output format.

The application runs on single thread by default to avoid possible fragmentation. Yet if user desires, it can run up to 30 threads concurrently, where each input WAV file gets a dedicated thread for conversion making the conversion of batch of files process faster. This application is helpful for those who are working on natural language processing and speech technologies where the WAV files need to be compressed for various Research and development activities
